Frequently Asked Questions

What areas does Cabana Boy serve? Primary service areas are Pawleys Island, Litchfield Beach and Garden City, South Carolina.

How long is the rental week?  The weekly service rate covers six days.  With most customers checking in on Saturday afternoon, service will start Sunday morning and run through Friday evening.  If you are checking in on Sunday, service will start Monday morning and run through Saturday evening.

What if I want the tent for more than 6 days? Additional days can be added at our daily rate of $125.

What if I need multiple tents or weeks? Contact us at (843) 742-1134 or e-mail rentals@cabanaboy.net for pricing options.

How soon will I be contacted after placing my online reservation? You will be contacted via phone or e-mail within 48 hours.

If I have requested a tent set-up at a public access, how will I identify my tent? Your rental beach tent will have a reservation card with your name attached to the tent.

Does Cabana Boy provide services other than tent rentals? Yes! We provide full-service chair and cooler rentals. We set up your chairs and cooler (with a fresh bag of ice) under your tent each morning! Contact us at (843) 742-1134 or e-mail rentals@cabanaboy.net to add these services.

What hours will the tent be available for use?  Your beach tent will be set-up by 10:00am. Tear down begins at 5:00pm.

What happens if there is bad weather? Summer weather in the South is often unpredictable. We make every effort to make sure your tent is available for use from 10 am – 5 pm, but weather events may shorten the day and sometimes interrupt service.  We closely monitor weather throughout the day (and night) and make decisions based on several different sources of information.  Our priority is the safety of our customers and our staff and to protect the equipment, so you will have a beach tent for the duration of your stay.

Is there any reason that service would be cancelled for the day? If there is a large weather event, services may not be offered for safety reasons. You will be notified if such an occasion occurs.

What about windy conditions?  Does that impact service as well?  Wind can be the biggest impact to service.  We have chosen our distinct tent style, because we’ve found it to be durable and absorb windy conditions much better than standard “pop-up” tents.  Even with that advantage, winds of 15-20 mph can impact service.  However, with the amount of sand blowing on the beach at those wind-speeds, most of our customers find it more pleasant to spend the day off the beach.

Does a rainy forecast mean the tent will not be put up?  No!  We will make every effort to make sure your tent is available for use from 10 am – 5 pm.  We closely monitor weather throughout the day (and night) and make decisions based on several different sources of information.

If service is cancelled for a day, is there a refund?  Our weekly rate is built with a sizable discount to cover any cancellation issues.  With a weekly rate, you basically get two free days compared to the daily rate.  If weather cancels service for more than two days of your rental week, we will certainly work one-on-one with you on a refund.

What is the length of the rental season? Peak beach rental season is from April through September, but contact us for off season availability.
